Inaugural 2022 Team Development Grants

SkIN Canada has awarded Team Development grants to 9 new multicenter collaborations.
The translational and clinical research projects will study a variety of skin
conditions related to inflammation, wound healing/tissue regeneration/fibrosis,

Contribute to the SPIRIT-CONSORT reporting guidelines

Endorsed by over half of all medical journals, the SPIRIT and CONSORT Statements help researchers to fully report their trial protocols and results. Co-led by SkIN Canada’s Dr. An-Wen Chan, these guidelines are being updated to reflect new evidence and expert opinions.

CIHR Institute of Genetics Workshop

CIHR’s Institute of Genetics is planning a zoom workshop on January 30 to discuss best practices in patient engagement in genetics research.

They are looking for patients and caregivers with lived experience of an inherited condition, particularly those who have not been engaged in research before.

CIHR-IMHA Inclusive Research Excellence Prizes

Registration Deadline: January 26, 2023

Thirty-five prizes of $25K will be provided by IMHA to reward completed research relevant to IMHA in the following domains:

THINC Implementation Science Team Grants

Application Deadline November 29, 2022

Three team grants ($2 million each) will be awarded by CIHR-IMHA to improve our understanding of transformative evidence-informed integrated care policies and interventions for people living with musculoskeletal, skin, and dental conditions. 

 

2023 France Canada Research Fund

Apply for grants of $8-15K to support researcher mobility for new expert partnerships between France and Canada.

Open Science and WHO: Share your thoughts on reporting clinical trial results in public registries

The World Health Organization’s International Clinical Trials Registry Platform, chaired by SkIN Canada’s Dr. An-Wen Chan, has launched a public consultation on the reporting of study results in clinical trial registries. Deadline: Nov. 11, 2022

Course: A How-to Guide for Patient Engagement in Research

  • Module 1: What is patient engagement?
  • Module 2: The research process: (a) Understanding the research process for patient partners and (b) Supporting patient partners throughout the research process for other members of the research team
  • Module 3: Setting up a research project for successful partnership
  • Module 4: Patient engagement for research teams: (a) Being part of a research team for patient partners and (b) Engaging patients on your research team for other members of the research team
