Biography
Dr. Jan Dutz is Professor of Medicine and Dermatology and Head, Department of Dermatology & Skin Science at the University of British Columbia. He is a Senior Scientist with the Child and Family Research Institute (CFRI) where his research focus is the skin immune system and the manipulation of this system to both promote immune responses and induce tolerance.
Dr. Dutz is a rheumatologist and dermatologist. He has a special clinical interest in the cutaneous manifestations of autoimmunity. He has been on the Scientific Advisory Boards of the Canadian Institutes of Health’ Institute of Musculoskeletal Health and Arthritis and the Canadian Dermatology Foundation. He has published over 50 papers and book chapters in the areas of skin biology, immunology and autoimmunity.
